Any management aspirant would dream to join the IIMs or a similar level institute for their graduation or post graduation studies. But there a lot of candidates earning their degrees from other B-Schools. So is it the same or are the IIMs just hyped?
Simple question, tough answer!
It is actually tough to answer this question as most people think IIM help you achieve all that you wish. To some extend this is correct and to some extend it is wrong. IIMs provides the students an amazing platform to earn knowledge in a unique way, then apply the same and earn a higher pay for doing that. So the question here is are IIMs not the same as other B-Schools?
What makes IIMs different?
The Indian Institute of Management or IIMs differ from other B-Schools in the following aspects :
Unique teaching pedagogies
Wide range of open resources and faculties with experience in academia and the industries
Peer to peer learning culture at its best
Opportunities to learn from a lot of international faculties
Learning from experience : Amazing case studies to explore upon and even to get taught by those who had written those cases
So this is a matter of fact that those red brick buildings (not all) are not just as common as any other B-Schools in India. You breathe a different kind of air in that atmosphere. It is hard to reach there, but once you could then that takes a huge turn in your life. Most of the students are not even aware about the ways in which they can get into an IIM. There are a number of opportunities open before them. So as I told earlier just like for dream career, for the dream education also you should have a vision and that can be IIMs for sure!
